About Me

Andy RobinsonMy Name is Andy Robinson and I have the privilege of being an Elder and serving the wonderful people who are the Kings Church in Horsham. I have been on staff at the Kings Church for 4 years and have worked predominantly with the youth both in the church and the town.

It must be said that I love God, am a passionate follower of Jesus Christ and am committed to seeing the purposes of God fulfilled in my generation.

Prior to working for the church I had a great Job as a Sales & Marketing director of an international software company, which I chose to leave after I felt God tell me to follow Jesus in a specific way and be more involved in church life. Let me tell you my story …

“Hear & Now”

Some people might look at me and see a dream life. By my mid thirties I was happily married to my beautiful wife for over 10 years, had two great sons, was the sales director of an international software company, big salary, travelled the world, lived in a big house with a gym, hot tub, big screen TV … I had arrived.

Throughout my work life, which I really enjoyed, I did not feel truly fulfilled. I worked to provide for my family and we had a great standard of living, but I was not making a real difference.

I believe that there is more to life than just “here and now”. I refuse to accept that I am the result of a cosmic accident that I have no purpose other than to survive and evolve. I refuse to believe that my life counts for nothing, that the decisions and actions I take have no affect other than the “here and now” and that when I die it all ends. I want my life to count for something!

I had become a Christian in my early teens and had attended church all my life and, due to my immature tendencies, had always worked with young people so I decided to resign from my job, take a 70% pay cut and work full time as a Youth Pastor for Kings Church Horsham. This allowed me to work every day with young people in the church, in local schools and in the local area which I love, but also allows me to impact their lives, help them through those difficult teen years and make a real difference.

The real difference I can make to them, and to you, is to tell you that there is more to life than just this “hear and now”. You are not the result of some intergalactic cosmic accident that occurred millions of years ago. You are more than the result random mutation of cells. There is more meaning to your existence than that, and deep down most of us know that if we are honest. Whilst the alternative, the existence of a God, is not one we all easily accept, we know deep inside that there is more to life than this.

If I believed that life was simply “hear & now” I would never have resigned from that job, I would have been crazy to give all that up. But I know there is more to life than this. Jesus came to earth 2000 years ago to show us that God wants us to live life to the full, not to make life boring! He came so we would really experience life now, be fulfilled and have confidence that when this life is done there is more, much more after that – A life forever with Jesus.

“Right Hear & Right Now”

If you identify in some way with my story and in some way feel that there is more to your life than you are experiencing now then please write a small comment below and I will email you with some more information. (Your comment will not appear on the site if you ask me not to). Being a Christian is not a life of boredom, rule and regulations, but something that is radically different. Living a Radical Christian life for Jesus is the most fulfilling way of life possible. Full of meaning and purpose. You were created in the image of God and to have a friendship with Him it is this that your soul is missing and it is this that feels like there must be more. I would encourage you to find a church near you and speak to someone more fully. Alternatively let me know and if I can help you I will.
